Working with children is, in my opinion, is the most gracious and warm. Most children are very sincere little people. Give them joy, then get them warm smiles. In one project TŞEV working with children from villages near Antep.

The village itself is not big and the people that live there, are very conservative. Many families have 10 children. Boys and girls rarely leaving villages, but their thirst for knowledge in the face.

Once a week, a small bus brings these kids into the city. And here comes the fun: games, excursions. Various forms of informal education. And what could be better than learning through play.

After all, even adults can not refuse from such entertainment.

Great Zeugma. Alas, the works of the ancient are overlooked.

But everyone wants to be restorers.

Planetarium caused much more activities.

Science can be interesting!

But I remember more of their face, kind and open.

Elif and Aslıhan: the Engelsiz Café

In November we started a new activity, twice a week, for helping the preparation of the newborn Engelsiz Café, where Elif and Aslıhan, two sweets and very helpful girls, work.

The cafe is located in the Akyol area, between Kırkayak park and the Havaş station. In the café, some young disable boys are employed as waiters, serving çay and toasts to the costumers. They have mental problems and some of them are also part of a Football Team, for disable people.

Me and Yana started decorating some big, dry pumpkins to make lamps: the pumpkin (kabak) as been emptied and dried at the sunlight. After, some holes were made to create floral motives, arabic writes and decorations. On these holes, colored beads has been applied to create colorful light effects once the kabak was turned on with electricity.

The 3rd of December has been the opening of the Café: many people from the city, journalists and organizations that work with disable people came in the morning to see the new cafè, to know about its activities and to promote and support its aim. The main activity in which the disable people (mostly younger than 30 years) are involved into are sport games. They are part of a football team and they spend many time on training and preparing the matches against the other teams coming form other turkish cities. There has been a play between Antep and other cities teams but unfortunately the local team lose, but I am sure the future will bring good news!

Don't forget that the Stadium of Gaziantep is a good one: it has been built in 1974 and with its dimension of 105 m x 68 m, it can hold 16,981 persons. Its name is Kamil Ocak Stadyum and it is so called from the turkish democratic politician Kamil Ocak, born in Gaziantep in 1914.

Here is the lovely team of the Engelsiz Café, and you can visit it every day it is open until evening: drink a çay or eat a toast there, it's beside the Bebek shop close to the park of Kırkayak!

In this website you find more information about their activities
